Workout Routines For 2-1-10 To 2-7-10

By Brad Gibala On February 8, 2010 Under Workout

Monday (2/1/10) P90X Upper Plus and Abs Core Plus - I loved this workout. It was my first time doing P90X Plus and Tony Horton makes up more crazy ass moves. The first move was a push up / tricep dip thing. When I saw it the first time I was like "wtf is that?" My arms were aching when I finished it. The Abs Core Plus workout was great. The involvement of the pull up bar made it fun and challenging.

Tuesday (2/2/10) 4 Mile Run & .71 Mile Swim - I cranked up the mph on the treadmill to 7 mph for the entire 4 mph while running on the hill setting. My swim time was very good. I finished the 50 lengths in about 30 minutes only taking a break at the halfway point to stretch for 30 seconds.

Wednesday (2/3/10) P90X Interval X Plus - This was a tough workout. It was very similar to the Insanity workouts so I felt like I was already in decent shape for it. However, I was sweating like crazy doing this. I look forward to doing it next week

Thursday (2/4/10) P90X Upper Plus - My #'s were about the same as before but I was able to keep up a little better because I was familiar with the moves which made me work on my form more.

Friday (2/5/10) 4 Mile Run & .71 Mile Swim - Felt really good today and ran the first 3 miles on the treadmill on the hill setting again at 7 mph before cranking it up to 7.5 mph for the last mile. The legs felt great so I just powered through it. I was a little slower in the pool because of the running but whatever. It took me about 32 minutes to do the laps.

Saturday (2/6/10) Day Off

Sunday (2/7/10) P90X Kenpo Cardio Plus - This was a great remake of the original P90X Kenpo X.

It was a very productive week. I mixed it up with running, swimming, and P90X Plus for the first time. The 40 minute workouts with P90X + are a much needed break from the 75 minute long marathon sessions with normal P90X. The pace at which the workout moves is much faster making it more challenging. On top of that I ate very good too. When I got home from swimming on Friday I saw what looked like 6 pack abs on me for the first time. I've seen a 4 pack before but this was much more visible. I then followed up this occasion by going out and drinking 3 pitchers of beer with my girlfriend. On Saturday morning the 6 pack was hidden once again.
