Monday (9/7/09) – Day Off- Was still not feeling good from the Kentucky house boat trip. Decided to rest as I was tired from the 9 hour drive from the day before.
Tuesday (9/8/09) – Insanity Core Cardio & Balance – Technically my recovery week was over but I wanted to do it to get back into the groove of things as it had been almost a week since I worked out.
Wednesday (9/9/09) Insanity Core Cardio & Balance & Double Header Softball Game – Finished up my Insanity recovery week today. I did not want to start the second phase of the workout with softball at night. Felt good to be done with the recovery week. Played pretty well at softball. I went 4 for 5 and slide for the first time since junior high school. I don’t know what got into me but I decided to get down. The reason I never slide is two fold. First off I play in shorts. Its still 80 degrees or warmer. The second one is that the field we play on is hard dirt with gravel on top. You are guaranteed to bleed if you slide. The only way around it is to go head first, which I did. We split the games.
Thursday (9/10/09) Insanity Max Interval Circuit – Ridiculous. This is the first workout for the second phase of Insanity. I could barely complete the warm up. Just when I thought we were done at the 45 minute mark Shaun T said we still had one more set to go. I guess the workouts are 10 minutes longer for the second phase of Insanity.
Friday (9/11/09) Insanity Max Interval Plyo – While I was sore as hell from the day before, Max Interval Plyo did nothing to make me feel better. This was harder then Max Interval Circuit. I could not believe some of the moves that Shaun T comes up with. I never would of thought of any of them. I had to take breaks throughout the whole workout. It was the first time I actually felt like the workout tested my mental strength along with my physical strength. Miserable.
Saturday (9/12/09) Day Off – Too much good football on to workout. I watched my Alma mater, Central Michigan beat Michigan State. It was probably one of the best games I have seen in a long time. I liked how they went for the win with the two point conversion. Even though they did not make it they came right back and executed the best onside kick I have seen and recovered. A couple plays later they go and kick the game winning 42 yard field goal on their second try as a Spartan jumped off sides to give them second life. I even liked the ensuing kick off when they booted it right at a MSU player 10 yards away, hit him, and the ball bounced right back to them. Partying followed.
While gloating and calling all of my friends who went to MSU to inform them that a Big 10 school lost to a MAC school we settled in to watch Michigan beat Notre Dame. Growing up I was a UM fan. I could root for MSU if they were not playing UM, but never once have I cheered for Notre Dumb. What a awesome day of football. Its been a couple years now since I enjoyed watching a Michigan football game.
Sunday (9/13/09) Day Off – Was tired from the previous day of activities. It was an awesome day. I was still sore from the Insanity workouts I did this past week. Hopefully next week will be better as Insanity is getting crazier.
