Monday (9/28/09) 5 Mile Run

Tuesday (9/29/09) P90X Back & Biceps – Even though I had a really good workout I did not come anywhere close to the amount of pull ups I normally do. Taking two months off from doing them or using any weight at all resulted in me losing some strength. During the workout I broke the 40 pound resistance band handle. Luckily, I had shoes on or otherwise the band would probably of broken through the skin on my foot.

Wednesday (9/30/09) Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance and Triple Header Softball Game – Had a really good workout in the morning to get me warmed up for the game at night. We won 2 of 3 games and the last one was crazy. We were down by 14 runs in the 5th inning and ended up scoring 17 in the inning. With there being a time limit all we needed to do was let the inning go longer than 5 minutes but not let them score 3 or more runs. For the first time that game we put them down 1, 2, 3 and finished the inning in 3 minutes. Now there was one more inning to be played. We went down 1, 2, 3 and they got up and scored 4 runs. It sucks when you lose 28 to 27 in a game where you put up 17 runs in one inning. I had only one ball hit to me in the game so it was boring in the field but I went 11 for 15 at bat.

Thursday (10/1/09) Day Off – I woke up feeling exhausted from all the running the night before. Softball was killer and my hamstrings were on fire.

Friday (10/2/09) P90X Yoga X – Still felt a little sore from all the sprinting at softball and decided to do some Yoga. It had been 2 months since I had did it and did it show. I was not able to stretch out nearly as far as I could before and my balance poses were bad.

Saturday (10/3/09) Day Off – Busy day of watching football. Michigan lost Michigan State. Should of went for 2.

Sunday (10/4/09) 2 Mile Run – Went for a brisk jog to burn off some of the adult beverages from the night before.

The idea to mix up P90X and Insanity is a good one. With both of them being extreme programs its really the best of both worlds. I have not written up my own plan but I am thinking about doing P90X 3 times a week and Insanity twice a week to give it a good balance.
