Monday (8/10/09) Insanity Pure Cardio – I was supposed to do Cardio Circuit or at least that’s what it says in the Insanity Workout Calendar. Come to find out that there is no Cardio Circuit DVD. So I did Pure Cardio instead.
Tuesday (8/11/09) Went on a 6 mile bike trip to go pick up some new workout shoes. I use to buy a new pair of cross trainers and wear those until they got scuffed up and then made them my running shoes. Come to find out that the shoe has been already broken down and this could be a large reason why my ankles and knees hurt after a run or workout. I bought a new pair of Nike Cross Trainers and will only use them to workout in.
Wednesday (8/12/09) Insanity Pure Cardio & Double Header Softball Games – I had a really good workout in the morning before my teams playoffs for softball at night. We were only able to win our first game and lost the second. I don’t know what it is but we struggle when it comes to playoff time. We seem to tighten up and are not the relaxed team we usually are in the regular season. We lost to a team that we mercied the last 4 times we played them. I was decent with the bat and went 5 for 7 including a shot that hit the fence. Its been awhile since I turned on one. My fielding was questionable and I know it cost us at least 2 runs in one game. All in all it was a fun season. We went 20-6 in the regular season. We start up in two weeks for the second season. Hopefully we can find our groove when it comes to playoff time.
Thursday (8/13/09) Day Off – Went golfing with my brother and played like crap.
Friday (8/14/09) Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance – Felt really good today and can feel a difference in how high and for how long I can jump during the exercise.
Saturday (8/15/09) Day Off – Went camping and tubing with some friends in Middleville, Michigan. It was a fun weekend and might have been a little too fun. It was the first time in a long time where my friends and I did something without the girlfriends or wives.
Sunday (8/16/09) Day Off – Recovered from camping and tubing.
I would call this a normal week of working out and being active. There is something that I am realizing about my journey to live a healthy lifestyle and it is that the weekends are making me start over every week. My self control about what I eat and mainly drink is taking away from the results I work so hard to get during the week. Its not like I am putting on weight but the last couple of Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays have been harder to get through in regards to finishing a quality workout. Finishing the Insanity workout routine has been nearly impossible because of this. I need to change something and do it fast. I have been throwing around the idea of doing two a day workouts to punish myself as I need a kick in the butt. There might be some posts coming in the next week where I challenge myself to do Insanity in the morning and P90X at night.













Hey Brad, I’m right there with you on the weekends it seems. It hasn’t been the greatest weather around here for sailing this summer so a lot of sitting on the snacking and drinking. I’ve been slacking a little during the week as well and not getting in all 6 days.
