Workout Review For 7-6-09 To 7-12-09
Monday (7/6/09) P90X Plyometrics - I felt really good today and blasted through plyometrics.
Tuesday (7/7/09) P90X Shoulders & Arms - It had been awhile since I had done shoulders and arms. I went for the higher weight and low rep route. I added 5 pounds to what my previous weight/reps where to start. Surprisingly I was able to do more reps than I thought I could. From now on I will be using higher weights.
Wednesday (7/8/09) P90X Yoga X + Double Header Softball Game - I don't like doing strenuous workouts on game day as I need the energy to play. Wednesday is my yoga day. This way I am all stretched out for the game. We won both games and I went 5-8. I hate admiting it but I struck out swinging. This was the second time its happened so I am kind of over the 'I can't believe that happened.' I get to bring a case of beer to the next game.
Thursday (7/9/09) Day Off
Friday (7/10/09) 4 Mile Run + 3 Mile Bike Ride - I was doing some reading about why people who run a lot get that 'skinny' fat look. It said that the body gets use to the running and that the fat burns the muscle first instead of the fat as it is trying to store the fat. To burn the fat instead of the muscle it recommended doing sprints instead of a long run. So what I did was do 20 second sprints, slow down to a normal jog for 20 seconds and then sprint 20 seconds. I almost made it all 4 miles without stopping but made it to mile 3 and was gassed. When I made it home I could feel my legs burning but my ab muscles seemed to be engaged. It seemed to work so I'll try it again next week. At night my girlfriend and I rode our bikes to downtown Royal Oak to meet some friends and it was about 3 miles round trip.
Saturday (7/11/09) Day Off - Went to a fireworks show on Elizabeth Lake in Waterford.
Sunday (7/12/09) Day Off - Family reunion at Stoney Creek Metropark in Rochester.
It was another successful week of activity with 3 days of P90X. I am very excited to hear the news from Beachbody that they released the new Insanity Workout from Shaun T. I heard about this a couple months ago and knew it was going to be my next workout program. I ordered it and should be receiving it in the next couple of days. Once it gets here I will be doing reviews of each Insanity workout and doing videos. From looking at the infomercial it looks like it is going to be tough.

My name is Brad Gibala. In 2007 I was introduced to P90X by a friend training for the Marines. I didn't know it at the time but that moment changed my life. Since then I've become a full time
