Sunday (5/3/09) Drove Back From Kentucky

I did my best to push it a little bit before the start of softball season. Even though I workout regularly there is something about being in game ready shape. We play two games a night and I was definitely feeling it in my hamstrings from the running.

I played pretty good and am now holding it down at first base. One of our guys who was injured all last year is back and is much better at the spot I played last year then I am. My teammates are liking me at first base right now. With all of the Yoga I do I was able to stretch out a little farther to turn a couple close plays into outs for us.

While I was happy with how the first night went (we won both games) I felt like I needed to get back into playing shape and pushed myself pretty hard the next day when I did P90X Chest and Back. My upper body was sore as hell for the next two days as where my legs from all of the sprinting.

I took a couple days off from any kind of P90X workouts as some friends and I drove down to Kentucky to visit some friends and go to the Derby. There was a lot of walking involved while we were there. It was my second time being there and the first for my friends and girlfriend. I wish I would have thrown some money at the #8 horse as it won and was 50-1 odds. Ridiculous.

For the upcoming week I need to push myself a little harder then usually as I want to be ready for this weeks softball games and not feel sore the next day.
