P90X And Ultra Marathon Running

I was playing around on the Beachbody Coach website today and found a video of a guy who is in his 40s and is a ultra marathon runner. He started running marathons at age 37 but got injured a couple years later and put on 35 pounds. He said he was trying to find a workout to help him get back into shape and would you believe he found P90X. I could not believe it when he said P90X helped him shed 45 minutes off of his time. That is ridiculous. That is almost 2 minutes faster for each mile over a 26.2 mile run. After finishing he decided to give the Catalina Ultra Marathon a shot. If you do not know what a ultra marathon is, its a race where you run 50 - 100 miles. The one thing he said that helped him the most was all of the core workouts like Cardio X and Ab

5 Miles On The Bike, 3 Miles Running, .5 Mile Swimming

I was starting to feel a whole lot better today after a nice relaxing weekend. I had not done any kind of working out since I had a huge pain in my neck last week. It still kind of hurts but at least it moves with a more normal range of motion. All that I did over the past week was run. No P90X for me. I did not want to re-injure any pinched nerves in my neck and have to skip out on another week of doing anything. Funny thing happened on Saturday. I broke the treadmill. Now its either run outside in the cold Michigan winter or get on a treadmill at the gym. Off to the gym.

So today it was time to get back on the horse. I headed off to my gym and decided to switch things up a little bit. Doing the triathlon has been in the back
