P90X Legs And Back DVD

By Brad Gibala On October 3, 2008 6 Comments

The P90X Legs and Back DVD is one of my favorite P90X workouts. Before I started doing P90X I never did any kind of legs or back workout. It was not that I did not want to work those out but never knew how much both of those muscle groups are so important to my everyday fitness. When I use to go to the gym I was that typical guy who did a lot of bench presses, curls, and tricep workouts. I would get on the treadmill every now and then to warm up but I did a lot of arm and chest workouts. Sure, I felt stronger and was in decent shape but no where near the kind of shape I am in now due to P90X. After having great success with P90X I wanted to do more workouts from the Beachbody Company. I was very happy to come across the Beachbody Coach program.

I filmed myself doing the P90X Legs and Back routine after my 90 days with P90X. When I first started I could barely do 15 total chin / pull ups during this routine. While recording this video I did 77 total chin / pull ups. There was one time where I did 82. The rest of this article goes over each exercise shown in the video.

The P90X Legs And Back routine starts out with a set of "Balance Lunges." This is where you put one foot on a chair and do lunges with one leg while trying to balance. You do both of these for 25 reps. After that you get into some "Calf-Raise Squats." Adding weights is the way to go with this workout. Again, 25 reps here. To finish off the first three

Do Not Take Two Weeks Off When Doing P90X

By Brad Gibala On August 27, 2008 1 Comment

Yesterday I started doing P90X for the first time in two weeks. I had taken the time off because I got caught up in a couple of things I was not feeling so good after getting back from a three day bachelor party in Put In Bay, Ohio. The partying and staying on a boat for a couple days messed up my equilibrium pretty bad where I felt like I was still on a boat some three days later. I still ran a couple times and went swimming once but I was just not my normal self. It probably did not help that I did not eat that well while on the trip and of drinking for 8 hours through out the day does not help.

I busted out the P90X Legs and Back dvd yesterday because I felt like it was a good one to get back on track with. The Legs and Back dvd is one of my favorite P90X workouts to do. Once I could do pull ups and chin ups I felt challeneged while doing it. I always enjoy trying to push myself to do more pull ups every time that I do it.

Well, today I am very sore. My legs is what really is sore. I decided to go for a run to help stretch them out and to get a little bit of cardio in. I was almost able to do as many pull ups and chin ups as I normally do but fell short of just a couple. I guess that is not so bad considering I basically did not do anything strenuous over two weeks and still retained some strength. This tells me that the P90X results I have earned can stay there for quite some time as
