These events are a combination of Success Stories with workouts like P90X, Shakeology, and business success. About 200 people showed up with 90% of them already being a coach. It was the first time the corporate people from Beachbody came to Michigan. This was not my first game plan event but I know how important they are for new coaches to go to or for people who are using Beachbody products and are curious about what its all about.

I heard one of my new favorite P90X success stories at the event. I forget his name but his story was about how he was told by his Drs that his life was pretty much over from a spinal injury and was given a life supply of Vicodin. The Drs told him to not lift over 20lbs of weight as it might mess with the surgery he had just had. At the time he had a baby girl who was almost over 20lbs. He realized the Drs. were basically telling him he could not hold his girl. He decided that since he was going to be in pain already that he might as well put himself through more and work on his body. He had seen the P90X infomercials before but realized it was too much and went with the Power 90 workout. During those 90 days with Power 90 he dropped 40 pounds and no longer had to take the pills. It was a pretty moving story to say the least. It still amazes me how these programs can change people’s lives. Kind of like my cousin-in-law Kevin (pictured with Andrea and I) who has lost 25 pounds in the past 3 months since starting Power 90.

<a

It really set in when he said “Its not about you.” Its so true. Our “job” as a Beachbody Coach is to tell people who are out of shape or have poor health that we have a remedy to it and will be there to support them. The business just follows.

Every time I hear Craig speak I want to build a building or something like that. Its why I keep on pushing with the business. I know that I am truly helping people because I am able to tell people what I do to take care of my health. That’s probably why I had a really good month in February. I was focused on helping people.

Some of my favorite quotes and sayings from Craig are:

“Are you a weight watcher? Do you wait and watch?”

“Give me a chance to fail and don’t.”

“DNA – Determined. Natural. Ability”

It was not all P90X and business success stories. This is a health and fitness business so of course we had an hour long workout. The first half was the Power 90 Upper Middle Lower workout led by fellow Coaches Tommy Mygrant, Jeff Armbruster, Jason Diebold, and Rob Boyes. The second half was an action packed 30 minutes of Turbo Fire moves.. I did much better with the UML workout and looked like an idiot doing Turbo Fire. I did pick up some new dance moves though.

Every time I leave an event like this it reassures me that I am doing something that is really changing people’s lives including my own. Hearing other people’s stories are so moving. Jeff Armbruster did an awesome job of setting up the event and probably had the best quote of the day when he said “I would do this even if there was no business attached with it.” Well said Jeff.

lawsuit against ICON Health and Fitness this week over allegedly making false and disparaging statements to promote its Rip:60 workout program. Looks like this legal fight started back in February between the two sides. Beachbody’s lawyers are saying the only reason why they are suing is because “”ICON’s ad campaign, unfortunately, is misleading consumers by falsely advertising that its product is superior to P90X and Insanity.” I had never heard of Rip:60 before so I went and did some searching. I understand why Beachbody is suing them. Take a look at their two biggest ads.

and

Have to agree with Beachbody on this one as it can’t be anymore clearer. Reading into the lawsuit a little bit more turns out that Beachbody is not afraid of a little competition but is more concerned with the entire paragraph in the second ad claiming that “In a recent study…rip:60 tested the highest…” Beachbody wants proof of that study.

I was trying to think of other industries that bash its competitors and the auto one came to mind since I live near Detroit. After watching some commercials and ads for the new F-150 I noticed they had their competitors in the ad with them. Of course they showed the F-150 going 0-60 faster than the Sliverado and Ram while towing a boat but the ad looked fair. The small print on the bottom showed the different axles in the trucks for all the people with real knowledge about why the Ford was maybe faster. It seems like this is a common practice in the auto industry. You have to acknowledge that your competitors are there and that they make a good product but you have to show why yours is that much better. You can’t just say it.

I get the feeling that nobody who promotes Rip:60 has ever done P90X or Insanity. The one thing that always makes me laugh is when people say their program is “better” than yours. My reply is “I assume you did the other program to a T so you can give me a fair assessment of why yours is better. Go.” Of course, they never have and all credibility is lost. From time to time I’ll have somebody leave a “CrossFit is better than P90X” comment on my site and when I ask the question above I get no reply. Yes, I am very involved as a Beachbody Coach and am addicted to their products but I add in non-Beachbody workouts frequently. Most of which are swimming, running, and biking but I know I would get my butt kicked doing something like CrossFit, Bikram Yoga, or even the Stripper Pole workout as I’ve never done those before.

Instead of using “better” I think fitness companies and people defending their program should use “different” in their campaigns if they are going to call out their competitors. Rip:60 shouldn’t say its clinically better than P90X in their ads when they should be saying its “Different than P90X because we use these band things that are not used in P90X but are a little different than the TRX band system.” People like and need different when it comes to their health and fitness. How many people say they get bored of their workout routines at the gym and need something different? Lots of them.

I think its silly when health and fitness companies bash each others products. What they should do is acknowledge that their competitors make a great product that is helping people get in shape and lose weight while turning on the salesmanship to get people to buy theirs. If I was Rip:60 I would not even mention P90X or the Insanity workout in my ads as all it does is build up more brand recognition for Beachbody. People are going to see those ads, go to Google, and type in Does P90X Work? After seeing the million or so success stories and the community behind it, that person will probably forget about what you were trying to sell them and end up <a

I have been doing pretty well as a Beachbody Coach since I joined this past January. Over the past month or two its become more than just a way for me to stay in shape and promoting what I’m doing. People I don’t even know are sending me their P90X before and after photos saying how much they love P90X and that it changed their life. That’s powerful stuff. All I did was tell them what it did for me and offered some encouragement and tips here and there.

I figured its time to get the message out even more than I am doing right now. I found out about a Business Franchise Expo at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, Michigan. It was scheduled for the following weekend so I did not have that much time to prepare. Let alone, I’ve never worked a booth before. I’ve only been the person walking around the expo. Since there is a business opportunity with being a coach I thought it would be a good fit.

I invited some other coaches in my local area to attend it with me so they could get an opportunity to talk about what P90X has done for them. Nine people including myself worked the booth over two days. In the photo from left to right is Silvano, his brother Gianni, my girlfriend Andrea, and me. Gianni has lost 28 pounds doing P90X and is now doing Rev Abs. Silvano just started doing P90X and has lost 5 pounds. Andrea loves ChaLean Extreme. Even though she still has a week left, we took her measurements the other day and she has lost 10% body fat!!

Two things stuck out in my mind during the event. The first one was how many people came up to me and said “I lost 30 pounds doing P90X” or “I love P90X.” It proves how awesome P90X as a product is. The other one was what the other booths around us were promoting. The majority of them were promoting health drinks and a pixie stick type thing or as I like to think about it as the “Magic Pill.”

We all know there is no “Magic Pill” but people keep getting tricked by it. When I would glance over at another booth and see people drinking a sample of their product that promotes the answer to a healthy life I became a bit puzzled. The reason was because the person selling it didn’t look healthy at all and most were over weight. How is that a good representation of the product? Its not.

My next favorite one was a slimming garment that promoted “losing 3 sizes in 30 seconds.” You put this thing on that felt like Kevlar and it sucked every thing in. I kept thinking, so what happens when you take it off. Don’t the 3 sizes come right back? I kept seeing a lot of over weight men and women who would look at my table and see what we are about and say “that’s too hard” and go right to the slimming garment and be happy as hell.

If you have ever done P90X or any other Beachbody workout, you know that those 3 sizes will be gone forever with a little determination and effort. But as my buddy Joe says, 90 days is just too long. People want the results right now. Its sad, but true. We had the table with the answers but people walked by us looking for the quick fix. Joe even did the Insanity workout in the aisle way to show people how crazy it (and he) was.

All in all it was a good experience. We met some people who knew about the products and we talked to them about the business part of it. It was not that good of a turn out unfortunately. The company putting on the event said 1800 people showed up last year and I think there might have been 500 over both days. We had a good time and it was great to see my friends talking to strangers about what P90X did for them. We now know what to do for the next expo we attend.
Post from: I am not a fitness or nutrition expert. I’m a normal guy who struggled (got bored) to stay in shape while going to gyms over the years and now found a better way. I let the experts at Beachbody tell me what to do. They develop the workouts and nutrition plans and I follow them. When I get done with one workout I go and buy a new one. Doing this has helped me get into great shape in my home. I canceled my $720 a year gym membership because of this.

<a

Beachbody’s customers were getting such great results from the workouts that friends, family, co-workers, etc. were asking them what they were doing to get into shape. They would tell them and then go buy the products from Beachbody directly. Beachbody decided to start the Coach program rewarding people who share their experiences.

I had done two rounds of P90X before I found out about the Coach opportunity in Jan 2009. I wish I would of found out sooner as friends saw my results and ended up buying P90X. I would of earned $550 if I’d been a Coach and referred them. The 25% discount on the products was still enough to make me join. While continuing with the workouts I did the business part time. My commitment to the workouts and business came together when I won Top Coach for Region 5 Summer 2009. This meant a lot to me as there was a couple thousand coaches going for this award. Watch the video to see my P90X results and business success.

Don’t let the title of Coach deter you from signing up. I look at it as a way to answer questions about the products because I do them already. If anything, Beachbody is coaching you. Tell people what you are doing to get in shape and then send them to the website Beachbody gives you (looks like this). I made this video where I show things you cannot see until you become a coach including my weekly earnings to prove this is real. (Update 6/3/10 – Double what you see in the video)

The coach program is for everybody. Sign up for the 25% discounts, just for the business, or both. I well tell you that the people who really commit to a workout and use the nutritional products typically do better with the business. The reason is because they become a walking billboard and people come up to them and ask what they are doing to get in shape. I cannot tell you how many times people have approached me at the grocery store when they see me wearing my P90X t-shirt or hat and ask me about it. I hand them a business card with my before and after photos on the back and talk about the Coaching program or workouts. Its really that easy. People know the P90X and Insanity brand because of the infomercials or somebody they know is doing it and getting great results. That’s probably why you’re reading this right now.

Being a coach is a commitment to yourself to get into shape with Beachbody workouts. The reason why people fail when going to the gyms is they don’t have the knowledge to make their own programs and continue to change them. Beachbody handles all of that for you now. Let’s say you don’t even earn $1 as a coach but you got into great shape. Would it still be worth it? I think so. The worse thing that can happen is you save some money on the products you buy. I’d say almost 90% of the people who sign up do it for the discounts alone.

I’m sure you want to know how you get paid as a coach. I can disect the compensation plan and confuse the heck out of you or break it down to its simpliest form. You earn a 25% commission when people buy from you and earn bonuses from what the coaches you sponsor buy or sell. Its really that simple.

Benefits Of Joining To Be A Coach With Me

Answer questions about the workouts

Access to me on a daily basis

Weekly business building webinars

Newsletters to keep you informed of Coach happenings

Members only access to a exclusive forum where coaches share info

Exposure on my site.

Work with a Top Coach – I went from unemployed to doing this full time in 9 months.

While I am more than willing to help and support you building your business, this really comes back to you and your effort. It took me 9 months of doing this part time before I took the leap to full time status. You should know I was unemployed at the time and had nothing else to do so I really worked this. If you have a full time job then you should set your time frame a little longer. I advise setting a 3 year goal with mini goals along the way. If you can get one new customer and coach a month then you would cover your business expenses in the first month. At the end of the first year you would have a residual monthly income of at least $400. Would that help you out?

How Much Does It Cost?

$39.95 which can be waived if you buy a workout program and Shakeology at sign up. Highly Recommended.

$14.95 every 5 weeks after sign up. This covers customer service, shipping, inventory, i.e boring stuff.

Any Additional Costs?

Its important to maintain an active status as a Coach. This can easily be done by selling or buying roughly $50 a month on products. Think about that for a second. You could consume your business expenses on yourself and grow a nice side or full time business from it. Beachbody has many products to choose from and you can go on their home direct plan where they mail you a product of your choice every 5 weeks. Many items come with free shipping when you choose home direct. I have Shakeology, P90X Recovery Drink, Whey Protein, P90X Multivitamin, and their Wildberry Protein Bars sent every month. I recommend you get on home direct. If its coming in the mail you will use them and do the workouts. More importanly is those products will enhance your workout results.

How To Get Started As A Coach?

If you are ready to sign up then follow the <a

I figured for any of you P90X’ers out there that would be interested in other workouts from Beachbody that you can look at them here. The original P90X workout was called “Power 90.” It is very similar to P90X but not as extreme. Some other titles are “Turbo Jam,” “Power Half Hour,” “Slim in 6,” and “Hip Hop Abs.” All of these are great workout DVDs and might be a more economical choice than the <a

Its hard to keep up with all of them because there are different workouts for everybody and what I like to do might not be the right workout for you. You will be able to find something that works for you regardless of what your current health level is. What makes Beachbody stick out amongst all other health companies is that they want to see you get healthy. When you buy a DVD from them and sign up for FREE to be apart of their forum your name will be put into drawings for $1,000 and prizes including iPods. No other company does this and wants to see you succeed with your fitness goals. To check out all of the programs they have you need to go to the <a
