@ Shanda

Insanity is the way for you to go. With Insanity being body weight training you really cant get bulky. You will tone up and slim down every where.

Hey Brad!

I'm a 18 year old female college student who played basketball and volleyball in high school but hasn't stayed in shape since college started. I'm going into my sophomore year and I want a leaner figure back. I'm still considered thin but I want more muscle but not bulk. I'm 5'6 and about 140 pounds and wear a six 6 in jeans. My stomach, thighs, and calves are chunkier than I would like. Which program would you suggest?

@ Candice

Have you taken your measurements? Insanity is almost all leg work. My legs were in much better shape because of Insanity. Don't focus on the number on the scale. Take your body fat % measurement now and check it again when it says to in the Insanity workout guide.

Hi Brad,
I am currently on week 2 of the Insanity Program (day 11). I feel like I am gaining weight rather than losing weight. I tend to build muscle quickly but don't want to bulk up. I am 5'5" 135 lbs but would like to tone my legs. Will this workout help me achieve toned legs if I stick with it? I am getting a little discouraged b/c i feel like the numbers on the scale are going up! I didn't think I would bulk up on this b/c there aren't any weights just your own body for resistance. I am not looking to gain muscle mass especially in my legs just tone what is there.

Thank you for your advice.

@ Brian Love

You should go with Insanity as its all about body strength conditioning. This will help you drop the weight needed along with toning everything else up. Good luck wrestling this upcoming year.

@ Jen

If you've never been good at cardio or running and you're going into the Air Force then I think you should do Insanity. Reason being is that its a lot of cardio and its better to work on your weaknesses now then have them exposed at boot camp, OCS, etc. Do the 60 days with Insanity and then P90X.

Hey Brad,
I am considering doing either P90X or Insanity, but I am not sure which one to choose. I have just graduated law school and am in mediocre shape. Even in the best shape of my life, I have never been very good at running or cardio activities. I was a college softball player, and I have done Body for Life about 5 years ago. I am headed into the Air Force in about 4-5months and want to be as prepared for training as possible. Which would you recommend? Thanks! Oh yeah, I forgot, I am a 25, F, 155lbs, 5'4".

@ Anthony

Both programs will help you reach your goal. You should start with P90X and then move onto Insanity. It is never too late to start getting back into shape. There are 40 year olds who have written on my website that never worked out before and now have toned arms and abs. Fitness is for life, its not just a 90 day thing.

@ Michael

You should start with P90X. Reason being is that Insanity is a advanced program with very little room to modify the workouts. P90X is still advanced but shows you how to modify each move to burn through the fat and keep on progressing. You'll have a advantage over people who have never worked out with your athletic background. When you are done with P90X, then do Insanity.
