Mountain Biking And P90X
Mountain Biking is a great exercise to incorporate into your P90X workout. Even Tony Horton says to add some of your own workouts here and there to keep it fresh. Especially with summer here I went to get some serious use out of the Specialized Rockhopper I bought last year. There are a couple trails around here but I do not live in the mountains at all.
Mountain Biking is still a great cardio workout and is good for your legs and core. A lot of your strength comes from your core and is the engine for your legs. Since I am still not doing Kenpo X right now I am Mountain Biking at least once a week for a 20 mile ride. It takes me about an hour and a half including stopping for street lights and cars around the suburbs.
When I got done the other day with my first journey of the summer my legs and back were on fire. Luckily I am still flexible from doing P90X Yoga X and it was more of just a reminder of what I did and that's it. It was refreshing to get outside and not listen to the DVD and be inside for an hour. I know that Mountain Biking is going to help my P90X workouts and vice versa.
The more I do P90x and throw in additional workouts it gets me thinking if I should do a triathalon. I know I mentioned it in a previous post but I think its time. Im in the best shape of my life right now and could probably change up a couple things to train. I have completed a marathon before and know what needs to be done for at least the running part.
Mountain Biking will have to replace something in the P90X routine, probably Cardio X. I enjoy Plyometrics too much to pass on it. Actually, Plyometrics is my least favorite because its the hardest for me, which I realize I know I have the most to gain from it.

That’s the most comprehensive article on P90X that I’ve seen. Nice work.
