It’s official. I was announced as the Top Beachbody Coach for Region 5, Summer 2009. I’m pretty pumped and don’t know what to say. I’ve never been involved with something like this before so I’m still kind of in shock myself. A year ago today as I was wondering what I would be doing for a job and now here I am getting a trophy for telling people what I do to get and stay in shape. That’s it.
With a week or two left in the contest my girlfriend kept reminding me that I was in first place and it looked like I was going to win. I think she was more excited about it then I was. I’m just one of those people who has a “it ain’t over yet” philosophy and knew somebody could come out of the wood works to pass me up.
The worst part was when the contest ended. There was a 30 day waiting period to count up the results. I had no clue why it would take so long until I went to the Game Plan Event and was told that they had to take into consideration returns from sales.
I had a feeling that I was going to win and took a minute to inform CEO Carl Daikeler about it. He was walking by me at dinner the first night at the event and I introduced myself. He asked if we had met at the Coach Summit a year ago. I told him no but that I was expecting a phone call from him about two weeks later saying I was the Top Coach for Region 5. He laughed. I told him I was not joking.
The call came and of course I missed it. I also missed the call from Larry Zimberg. Good job Brad! They announced my name and the other winners on a video (which is no longer up) in which they mispronounced my name and misspelled it too. Thanks guys. My friends made fun of me for that for about a week.
Now comes the cool part. The winner gets a all expenses paid trip to Kaui, Hawaii. You can check out the place they are sending me to at the Coach Destinations site. I’ve been to Hawaii when I was younger with mom and dad and that was cool, but this will be different as I earned it this time. The place is a 5 Star Resort and it looks Bad Ass. As a extra bonus they are going to pay for a excursion of my choice. I love to golf but am thinking I have to go scuba diving as we don’t have oceans here in Michigan but we do have plenty of golf courses. I have a couple months to decide on that issue.
Besides that, I’m just excited to finally see a result come from all of the hard work I’ve put in with getting my butt in shape with P90X and Insanity to go along with my efforts with the business side of being a Beachbody Coach. I’m so happy I found out about this opportunity. I don’t know of any company that wants you to live a healthy lifestyle by using their products and will reward you for sharing it with others. Congrat’s on the top coach award. I decided to not close down my website. You were talking about messing with it and trying to get some traffic going to it. If you still want to then be my guest. If not no big deal. Congrat’s again

Congrats Brad :) You deserve every bit of this and you don’t give yourself enough credit for it. Remember all the nights I sat there watching TV when you were sitting there on your computer working till 10-11 at night? Or even now when I have to ask you to turn off your computer to spend time with me? When you look back at it….it almost sounds like the beginiing of a “How I became successful and wealthy” boigraphy! I’m just glad you’re taking me to Kauai so now I can get all that time back and be able to spend it with you. Love ya!
