Additonal Workouts For P90X
I have been involved with the P90X workout for over 6 months now. I have had amazing results with the program and will continue on doing it. Just like anything in life somethings do get a little boring here and there. I pretty much have every move memorized in all of the P90X DVDs and every joke that Tony Horton says. I am to the point now that I fast forward the DVD to the next workout while he is standing there talking.
I was wanting to add more workouts to the program without having to give it all up. I have followed the P90X workout program from the beginning in regards to what exercises to do during each 3 week period with the one week off. This has worked tremendously for me.
But with the major point of P90X being muscle confusion my muscles are no longer confused. This is because I have done the workouts so much that it is no longer becoming a workout. I mean its still a workout but Im not getting the results because I am doing the same DVDs more frequently.
So my bright idea was to get all of the workouts and write them down on small pieces of paper. From there I added a few of my own. The ones I added were:
Run 5 Miles with 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups
Bike 10 Miles
Sprint 3 miles with 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups
I added three pieces of paper for each so hopefully I will pick them at a random order so I'm not running 10 miles in two days. That would be to much of a beating for my legs. But, you know what if it happens then it was meant to be. This is what P90X is all about. Now since I do not know what's coming at me that day I can't sike myself out or think of an excuse not to workout. All I know is that when I reach into the hat to pick out a slip that's what I will be doing for the next hour.
I will finish off all of the workouts before I put them back into the hat. This should really keep my body guessing and maybe I'll have three days in a row of stretching or maybe it will be three days in a row of pull-ups. I sure hope not but I'll leave it to the game of chance to let me know how I am going to beat my body up that day.
